Chief Minister Raghubar Das today laid foundation stone for Dugni Barrage Project in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, where he said that on completion of the project, the land of 413 hectare of
Kharif and 256 hectares of Rabi crop will be irrigated through the dam and it will also provide drinking water to thousands of people.
“In 2011, when I visited Dugni, Saraikela then framers had demanded barrage project for irrigation. Today I am laying foundation for the project in Doda, Simbeda, Chamra, Rangarshahi, Ujjainpur and other villages of Gamharia. Its construction will be completed by 2021 at a cost of Rs 95.43 crores,” he said.
The CM said that the State Government will also supply pure drinking water through pipeline along with irrigation. The government's endeavor is that no one's land should be taken in this scheme, he said and directed the concerned department to start work within a week with maintaining quality.
Das said that 60 per cent of the population of the State lives in the village and they are dependent on agriculture.
In this way, water management is important for which State Government running medium and minor schemes for irrigation.
Under the medium irrigation scheme, five new schemes, Koderma, Daharwali, Buddha and other plans have been started at a cost of Rs 1,585 crore. Under the scheme of minor irrigation, the scheme of Rs 931 crores has been approved.
As many as 50 are incomplete plans where work is being done at a cost of Rs 1,5655 crore. Work on 26 new plans is going on. In Palamu the work will start soon for water supply from the Sone and the Kanher River at a cost of Rs 1,644 crore.
“The aim of the Center and the State Government is to double the income of the farmers by 2022. The minimum support price was increased by one and a half times, which no one thought after independence,” he said.
“By November 2018, electricity will be provided to all the households of the State. Two districts of the State have been provided electricity completely. By 2018, the Government is in the process of making electricity available to every household and by 2019, to provide electricity round the clock. Jharkhand is the only State where gas stove is given free with cylinder under Ujjwala Scheme. 57 lakh people have been given benefit of Ayushman Bharat,” he added.
The CM said that benches and desks have been provided to 38,000 schools of the State. Now there will be an effort to ensure recruitment of high school teachers in 18,000 high schools by November.
Under Local Policy 1 lakh youth has been given employment in which 95 percent of the local youth are included.
17 lakh women of the state are associated with self employment. Two cows are being provided in 90 per cent grant to women so that they can move towards self-employment. Blue Revolution has come in the fisheries.
Now we have to launch the White Revolution, because we buy milk of 400 crore from outside.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister handed appointment letter to the male and female for the lower class post on the basis of compassion in water resources department.
Those who received the appointment letters included Renu Devi, Dev Prakash Singh, Soni Kumari, Kaushalendra Kumar, Aditi Pandey, Anup Chandra and Manish Kumar.
On the occasion, Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Chandra Prakash Chaudhary, MP Laxman Giluva, MLA Kharswana Dashrath Gargai, MLA Ichagadh Sadhu Charan Mahato, Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources Department Arun Kumar Singh, Divisional Comm-issioner Kolhan Vijay Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner and SP and others were present.
