CM releases Uttarakhand Vision 2030 document

Uttarakhand Vision 2030 document was released by the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat here on Monday. The document website was also launched on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “Uttarakhand Vision 2030 visualises our goals for 2030 and states where we are standing today. The details of the projects which are in consonance with the goals of Government of India and United Nations and which strengthen sustainable development have been incorporated in the document. Projects should start on time and should be completed on time based on results. The Uttarakhand Vision 2030 is an outline of future and economic development of Uttarakhand,” he said. 

In the vision document, there are development plans for three years, seven years and 15 years to achieve the sustainable  development goals (SDG) by the year 2030.

All the departments are formulating strategy to achieve the goals on time. The State Vision 2030 document has been prepared incorporating 17 sustainable development goals and its 168 sub-goals to be achieved on time.

It also has different aspects of State Government vision till 2030. Out of 17 sustainable development goals, there are four major themes which include continuous employment, human development, environmental sustainability and social development sustainability which have been highlighted in the document. There will be ease in preparing sector wise projects and it would also help in implementation of development works and its monitoring.

Major growth engines identified for the economic development of the state include livelihood farming and aromatic and herbal farming, tourism development, AYUSH, green energy and forestry. The document also has the proposed projection of financial resources of the SDG in three years, seven year and 15 years period.

The working groups formed under additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries and secretaries for effective planning, execution and monitoring of sustainable development goals, have been expected to hold meetings at the earliest to prepare working plans for annual, three-year, seven-year and long-term working plans and also put in place monitoring frame work.

Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh, additional chief secretaries Radha Raturi, Om Prakash and senior officers were present on the occasion.
