Friday, 14 December 2018 | PNS | Lucknow

Asking local leaders to make Prime Minister  Narendra Modi’s visit to Rae Bareli a huge success, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed arrangements made at Modern Rail Coach Factory at Lalganj on Thursday.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Rail Coach Factory on December 16.

Yogi met the local administration officials and oversaw the ground where the rally would be organised after Modi flags off over 900 rail coaches.

The Chief Minister inspected areas where the Prime Minister is slated to visit and reviewed arrangements for the public meeting.

The Chief Minister also held a separate meeting with local Bharatiya Janata Party leaders that was attended by Civil Aviation and Registration Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, senior party leader Mahendra Singh and BJP state general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak.

“The rally should be an impressive one,” Yogi told the local BJP leaders and sought to know how the crowd would be managed.

Modi is set to launch an aggressive campaign for 2019 general elections from Rae Bareli, the parliamentary constituency of United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi, on December 16.

After his Rae Bareli programme, the Prime Minister will dash off to Prayagraj where he will inaugurate several projects for the coming Kumbh Mela and will address a public rally at Jhunsi.

On December 29, Modi will be visiting his parliamentary constituency Varanasi where he will address a rally of Rajbhar community in the east UP town of Ghazipur.

Meanwhile, heavy security arrangements were being put in place for the Prime Minister’s visit. Sources said that police officials and personnel, including 16 SP’s, 25 ASPs, 50 DSPs would be deployed. Besides, 12 companies of PAC and six fire-tenders would also be deployed to deal with any exigency.

Snipers will be deployed in multi-storeyed buildings and drones and CCTV cameras will be used for surveillance for suspicious elements and control of crowd.
