Getting a lot of flak over the Bulandshahr violence, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will meet the family members of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh who was killed in the violent clash sparked by recovery of beef and carcasses said to be of cattle.
A government spokesman said in Lucknow on Wednesday that Yogi Adityanath would meet the family members of Subodh Kumar Singh at his 5, Kalidas Marg official residence here on Thursday morning.
The state government has announced a compensation of Rs 40 lakh to the slain cop's widow, Rs 10 lakh for his parents and a government job for a member of the family.
The Chief Minister might hand over the compensation cheque to the kin during the meeting.
Incidentally, it is unclear whether the family of Sumit (20), who also died in the incident, will also get the compensation cheque.
The Chief Minister decided to meet the killed inspector's family members after a late night meeting with senior UP Police and Home department officials in which he reviewed the law and order situation on Tuesday.
Yogi has been facing criticism over the incident with the opposition alleging that such incidents were part of an attempt to incite communal unrest in UP.
