Speaking at the plenary session of the Make in Odisha Conclave, Vedanta chief Anil Agarwal highlighted how Odisha is offering an ample scope in setting up downstream industries which would create better job opportunities in coming years.
With an investment of Rs 5 crore to Rs 50 crore, one could be a good entrepreneur given the ecosystem here, he told.
"This is the place of employment. We don't seek job but we will provide you job as the State is slowly emerging as a favorite investment destination," said Agarwal, adding, “We still have committed to set up a world class university in Puri for 1 lakh students.” He also urged the Government to set up a world class Convention Centre in Puri.
There is no better place than Odisha in the world. How Vedanta has changed landscape of Kalahandi is the place to be seen, Agarwal told.
Joining the bandwagon, Aditya Birla Group of Companies chief Kumar Mangalam Birla said, “Odisha is the top priority State for us.”
After Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, Odisha is all set to be the third State with 10 billion economy, revealed our study, said JSW Group chairman Sajan Jindal. "Odisha has a lot of potential. We are shortly commissioning a new berth in the Paradip Port for exports. And are going to set up a most modernised greenfield steel plant in the world in Odisha,” Jindal said.
