Cong leaders crying ‘EVM tampering’ sensing defeat: Kaushik

The Congress party leaders are alleging EVM tampering after sensing their possible defeat in the assembly polls, said State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Dharamlal Kaushik here on Friday.

Addressing a press conference here at BJP's divisional office ‘Ekatma Parisar’, he further claimed that BJP will be forming the Government in Chhattisgarh by winning more than 65 seats.

“I have interacted with the BJP candidates of all the 90 assembly constituencies and from their feedback, I am sure that we are going to continue the victory spree and are going to form the government for the fourth consecutive time in the State”, he said.

Kaushik also expressed gratitude towards voters of insurgency-infested regions who bravely came out to vote in the first phase of elections in large number.

“This time, record number of voting in Naxal-infested areas was recorded which shows the trust of tribal populace in democracy”, he said.

Kaushik also thanked the security forces for peaceful conduct of polls.

Commenting on Congress party’s allegation of possible tampering of EVMs and that professional hackers were called to influence the poll results, Kaushik said these were all excuses of the Congress party for their possible defeat in the elections.

“By making such baseless allegations they have accepted their defeat even before the result was out”, he said.
