Former Minister and senior Congress leader Amitesh Shukla secured victory with record margin of 58,132 votes from Rajim assembly constituency of the state.
Shukla got 99,041 votes and beat his nearest rival Santosh Upadhyay of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who got 40909 votes.
The other candidates who ensured victory with considerable margin include Congress candidate from Gundardehi assembly constituency who beat his nearest rival Deepak Tarachand Sahu with a margin of 55394 votes, Leader of Opposition and senior Congress leader T.S. Singhdeo beat Anurag Singhdeo of BJP with an impressive margin of 39,624 votes.
Another senior Congress leader of Surguja region and President of Tribal Wing, Amarjeet Bhagat also recorded victory with a considerable margin of 36,137 votes from Sitapur assembly segment.
Anila Bhedia of Congress beat her nearest rival Lal Mahendra Singh Tekam with a considerable margin of 33,103 votes while Vinod Chandrakar of Congress beat Poonam Chandrakar of BJP in Mahasamund with a margin of 23,066 votes.
