The existing pre-poll alliance of the Bahujan Samaj Party-Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) on Sunday was further strengthened with the Communist Party of India joining it.
After declaration of the alliance, in a joint press conference of JCC (J) and CPI held at Sagaun Bungalow on Sunday morning, the JCC (J) Supremo Ajit Jogi announced that they have given two of the assembly seats of Bastar region, Konta and Dantewada to CPI. The CPI is stronghold in these two seats and hope they would perform there well, Jogi said.
The alliance of these three parties took place because of having similar political ideology, said Jogi. “The joining of CPI the alliance will increase our power as it has strong base among laborers all over the state,” he added.
Highlight reason of the CPI deciding to join the alliance, Jogi said it was attracted after BSP-JCC (J) alliance gained popularity in the state. He further claimed with joining of CPI, the alliance would be strengthened especially in regions of Bastar, Surguja and Bhilai.
It was also announced in the joint press conference that Jogi would be the Chief Ministerial candidate from the alliance in the upcoming elections.
