Haryana Director General of Police BS Sandhu on Wednesday said that a proposal to set up a Cyber Police Station in Faridabad has been forwarded to the government and the same will soon be opened.
Sandhu was talking to the mediapersons after inaugurating newly constructed building of Naggal police station in Ambala. The building has been constructed at a cost of about Rs 2.5 crore.
In reply to a question, the DGP said that crackdown on illegal trade of drugs is among the top priority of the police. After a joint conference of seven states recently, a common secretariat for data and information sharing has been established in Panchkula, he said.
We are working to make the society completely drug-free. Special Task Force is also supplementing the efforts in this direction, he added.
The DGP further said that the State Government has also decided to constitute anti terrorist force named ‘Kavach’ to further strengthen the security as well as law and order arrangements in the state.
Earlier speaking on the occasion, the DGP said that the newly constructed building of Naggal police station would fulfill the requirement of modern police station. Naggal Police Station, which was earlier working in a rented accommodation, would now shift to the newly constructed building equipped with all modern facilities. Apart from district Ambala, such kinds of police stations were being constructed in the entire state, he said.
Sandhu further said that state police is upgrading its infrastructure to provide better living and working facilities to its officers and officials. Various residential and office accommodations have been constructed across the state, he added.
