Discoms prepared to provide round-the-clock electricity during festive season

The period of religious festivals and Rabi crop season of electricity load has started and all three power distribution companies are prepared to provide round-the-clock electricity during festive season and 10 hours of electricity to farmers for Rabi crop, said MD of MP Power Management Company Sanjay Kumar Shukla.

He said that 675301 transformers and 26 lakh agriculture pumps have been established in the state which would help in providing electricity to the farmers during Rabi crop season.

Across the state 26 lakh agriculture pumps have been established which have provided with electricity connections by three power distribution companies.

In east region 8.97 lakh, in central region 5.31 lakh and in west region 11.54 lakh agriculture pumps have been provided with electricity connection.

The maintenance of 675301 transformers across the state has been completed. In east region maintenance of 192795 transformers, in central region maintenance of 253691 transformers and in west region maintenance of 228815 transformers has been done which would help in supplying electricity uninterrupted.

During the Rabi season the demand of electricity is like to rise to 13500 MW and to cater the need of supply respective to the demand arrangements have been made and it has been ensured that the supply would be maintained.
