Pauri District Magistrate, Sushil Kumar, sought explanation from nine officers found absent during the emergency meeting convened to fix dates and responsibilities of the officers to be engaged in the upcoming local body election. He asked the absentee officers to submit their explanation at the Panchsthani election office. DM, further, imposed prohibition on the leaves of the district level officers, and employees of the departments.
Given the importance of the local body election, DM issued an order that the officers cannot leave the headquarters without his permission.
