Khajuri police have booked four persons including a woman for harassing a 25-year-old woman demanding dowry at Bakania village; a case was registered on Monday.
Police said that the victim Manisha Naagar was harassed by her husband Sanjay Naagar and in-laws.
They used to demand dowry and after the victim failed to provide dowry she was harassed physically and mentally by the family members of her husband.
The victim claimed that Sanjay Naagar, Kala Bai, Devesh Naagar and Sohin Naagar used to harass her demanding dowry.
Within few days after the marriage the accused started to harass the victim and gradually they intensified the harassment after she used to oppose them and frustrated over the harassment on Monday she lodged a complaint with the Khajuri police.
The police have registered a case under section 498 A, 294, 323 and 506 IPC and started further investigation.
Meanwhile Gunga police have nabbed a 24-year-old youth for molesting an11-year-old girl at Dhamarra village on Monday.
Police said that the minor victim was molested by accused identified as Dashhrath Khagaar.
The victim was molested while on her way back to home after providing food to her father working in farms.
The accused hold hand of the victim and when she opposed and raised alert he escaped from the spot but was later arrested by the police.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 354 of the IPC and section 7 and 8 of the POCSO Act.
