Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya on Friday said that besides educational institutions imparting education in the field of agriculture, Agricultural Science Centres of university, Agriculture Department and other institutions in the state, should ensure their technical support in crop residue management.

The Governor stated this while interacting with the Vice-Chancellor, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar, KP Singh here. Singh apprised the Governor  about the activities and events of the University.

Arya said that for crop residue management, all the institutions should work in according to rules of the State Government. The crop residue management drive being run by the State Government would become more effective from October 5. The Centre and State Government has also made a provision of special budget for crop residue management, this time, he added.

The Governor also urged the farmers to not to burn crop residue in their farms but make use of agriculture equipment being provided on subsidy for crop residue management. This would not only check environment pollution but would also provide the farmers financial benefits, he said.

The Vice-Chancellor of university, Singh said that university is doing the technical as well as the work of generating awareness under a team constituted for crop residue management.

He said that along with CCSHAU, Hisar, Krishi Vigyan Kenders and Krishi Gyan Kenders have adopted villages, where a team of officers inform the farmers about management of crops residue.

The CCSHAU is among the top 100 universities of the country, and the campus placement of the university is 100 per cent. Over 4,000 students are studying in various faculties in the university, including students of 21 countries. The university is leading seed production and research, in the country, he added.
