Elephant calf found dead in Corbett

n elephant calf was found dead in the Corbett tiger reserve on Thursday. The Corbett warden Shivraj informed that during routine patrolling, the department staff spotted the body of a female elephant calf in the Sarpduli range. The calf was estimated to have been aged about three years. On being informed about the discovery, senior officials along with veterinary doctors reached the site after which a post mortem examination of the calf was conducted. The warden further informed that the carcass could be more than a day old. It was buried in the jungle after post mortem examination. The exact cause of death was not stated till the time of this report being filed.
