Chhattisgarh Government has appointed Justice (Retired) TP Sharma, former Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilaspur as ‘Pramukh lokayut of Chhattisgarh lok Ayog, from the date he assumes office. The order was issued by General Administration department on Monday.
Justice (Rtd) T P Sharma is presently holding the post of Chairman, Chhattisgarh law Commission.
Justice TP Sharma after seven years of service had retired on June 18, 2015 from High Court. He was also Executive President of Chhattisgarh State legal Service Authority during this period. He was appointed as High Court judge on January 11, 2008.
Justice Sharma led division bench, in year 2014 has given decisions in 49 cases to register a record. Earlier, he was principal secretary legal and legal affairs.
He will replace the retired Chief lokayukta Justice S.N. Shrivastav. Justice Shirvastav is retiring this month. He was appointed as Chief lokayukta on August 21, 2013. He was judge of Allahabad High Court. Justice Shrivastav had taken charge from first Chhattisgarh Chief lokayukta Justice lC Bhadoo.
Justice T P Sharma is likely to take oath of office on August 22 as Chief lokayukta.
