Chairperson of Election Manifesto Committee of Chhattisgarh unit of Congress party T S Singhdeo on Tuesday reiterated that loans of farmers would be waived off and their power tariff bills would be curtailed to half if the party forms Government after Assembly polls in the State.

Notably, Singhdeo had also sought suggestions from more than one lakh citizens from every walk of life for the party’s poll manifesto in the making.

Citing several suggestions and making certain declarations, Singhdeo claimed that the party will release the poll manifesto by November 8.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Singhdeo claimed that the party will prepare the manifesto in such a manner that none of the promises turn out to be ‘hollow.’

“We will make promises with expenditure to be made on tasks in a separate column and a comprehensive manifesto would be prepared with an expected budget estimate of around Rs 80,000 crore keeping in view the budget of previous year while setting our priorities, he said.

The manifesto covers the issues of all sections of life whether be it farmers, labourers, government employees, Ad-Hoc employees, students, doctors, health workers, trade unions, vegetable and fruit vendors and we will try to fulfill the aspirations of all of them, he said.

Regarding curbing corruption in the state, Singhdeo  said the party will have ‘Lokpal’ as has been advised by social worker Anna Hazare.

About stand of Congress party on tackling Naxal menace, he said three pronged action would be implemented. At first the Maoists would be invited for talks, in second step we will execute development in the insurgency infested area so that they could join the mainstream and third option is of stern action if the two earlier steps don’t work.

The Congress leader also stated that party is against outsourcing and if it comes to power it will implement ‘zero’ outsourcing. Local industries would also be persuaded to train the local youth and employ them instead of hiring from outside, he said.

Singhdeo also declared that for farmers, the party will provide Rs 2500 Minimum Support Price per quintal of paddy including the bonus which the BJP had failed to provide.
