Foreign tour operators want short-term visa

Monday, 08 October 2018 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

Foreign tour operators, who participated in the Odisha Travel Bazaar organised here, sought short-term visa.

Especially Malaysian tour operators demanded short term visa. They  said it would be helpful for India to increase number of foreign tourists.

State Tourism Secretary Vishal Dev assured them on visa and told them that he would request the Government of India to take a decision in this regard as soon as possible.

Foreign tour operators raised concern about the strict rule of Environment and Forest Department and said that these laws need to be liberals to bring more tourists to the State.

Tour operators pointed out that the management at a few monumental sites is not in order. Dev assured them to do the needful.

Joint Director, FICCI Odisha Sanjeev Mohanty said this time parties from 23 countries participated in the event. More than 2,000 B2B meetings were held between buyers and sellers.
