Generally dry climate for U’khand today

Dry climate would prevail in most parts of Uttarakhand on Friday while mist might form at some places in the plains in the morning hours of the day, said the Regional Meteorological Centre on Thursday. While the maximum temperature would remain more or less the same the minimum might go down slightly on the day as compared to Thursday as per the Met department forecast issued on Thursday.

Earlier, the weather officers had said that it might rain or snow under the impact of approaching western disturbance from November 10.

In case it rains and snows as per the forecast the mercury across the State might plunge to make the winter biting.

According to the weather forecast, the sky would be mainly clear to partly cloudy on Friday while there is a possibility of mist or shallow fog forming in some parts of the plain areas of the State during the morning hours of the day.

As per the forecast, the minimum temperature in Dehradun is likely to settle at 10 degree Celsius while the maximum would hover in the neighbourhood of 26 degree Celsius on the day. 

In Dehradun, the minimum temperature settled at 11.8 degree Celsius, normal, while the maximum hovered around 27.4 degree Celsius, one notch above the normal, on Friday. 

On Thursday, the minimum temperature recorded at Mukteshwar was 6.2 degree Celsius, normal, while the maximum temperature settled at 16.6 degree Celsius-one notch below the normal.

The minimum was 7.4 degree Celsius at New Tehri and the maximum was 16.8 degree Celsius, both normal.
