Wednesday, 19 December 2018 | PNS | Lucknow

Unidentified bikers sent shock waves in Agra when they torched a 14-year-old girl for opposing their molestation bid in front of her house on Tuesday. The victim was later rushed to Agra Medical College with 80 per cent burns.

Harendra of Lalau hamlet of Malpura (Agra) complained that his daughter Anjali (14) is a student of class X at AP Inter College in Naumeel area. He said that on Monday afternoon, when she was returning home from school, two bikers, wearing helmets, started teasing her. When she resisted, the miscreants stopped the girl before her house. Before the victim could sense foul play, they doused her with kerosene and set her afire.

After executing their sinister design, the miscreants sped off from the crime scene, while locals rushed in to save the victim.

Later SP (Rural), along with Circle Officer of Achnera, rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to Agra Medical College where the doctors said that her condition was critical.

As per reports, Mahaveer Maurya (24) of Rahtara in Lakhimpur Kheri was in love with his neighbour Aarti (21). Their link-up, however, riled their families as they belonged to different castes. On Monday evening, the young couple eloped from their houses and while their families launched a hunt, they finally found their bodies hanging from a tree outside the village the next morning. Their bodies were sent for autopsy and investigations were on.
