Gujarat delegation invites CM

A delegation from Gujarat called upon the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at his official residence here on Friday and invited him to participate in the unveiling ceremony of ‘Statue of Unity’ scheduled on October 31.

The delegation comprised the Gujarat food and supplies Minister Jayesh Bhai Radadia, legislators Mukesh Patel, Raman Bhai Patel, Karsan Bhai Solanki and Yogesh Bhai Patel, secretary Mohammad Shahid, Director General of police T S Bisht and joint secretary Industry B S Mehta. The delegation also made a presentation through a film about the 182- meter tall statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM termed Sardar Patel as a great patriot, an able administrator and also a farsighted politician and said that the ‘Statue of Unity’ would turn out to be a unique identity of united India.

He termed the ambitious project envisaged by the Prime Minister as an inspiration for the common people across the country. Hailing the Sardar’s monumental contribution to the unity of the country, the CM said that the nation would hold him in grateful remembrance forever.  

The CM also heaped praise on the initiative of the Prime Minister in the reconstruction of Kedarnath Dham and also the sincere support the Centre has been giving to the State Government on the matter. He said that due to interest shown by the PM, the development of infrastructure at Kedarnath is now going on fast and the number of pilgrims is rising steadily. 

The delegation informed the CM that around the ‘Statue of Unity’, guest houses of each State would be constructed.

Gujarat Food and Civil Supplies Minister Jayesh Bhai Radadia presented a shawl of Gujarat and a replica of statue of Sardar Patel to the CM while Rawat in reciprocal gesture presented the  members of the delegation with shawls and replica of Kedarnath shrine.
