Harda gets its first Gym for women

Harda got its first gym for girls and women on Wednesday. This was built by Harda Municipal Corporation, after a decision was taken by a girl last year on November 20, which is marked as World's Children Day.

She became a Chairman of the Municipal Corporation as part of takeover initiative of UNICEF across the globe and in Madhya Pradesh. This was facilitated by Synergy NGO in Harda which is partner of UNICEF on its initiative with youth titled as Changeloomers. Bhanu was nominated as Chairman Municipal Corporation, by Surendra Jain. She took that decision and which was then implemented by the Surendra Jain, Chairman of Municicpal Corporation and all the members of the board of Municipal Corporation.

The Gym was named after Anjali Talreja, a girl who died sometime back in an accident in Harda but had battled for two days in hospital after her death, her parents donated her organs, and as mark of respect to her, the gym has been named in her memory by Municipal Corporation. Her parents were present at the inaugural event held today at Harda.

Anil Gulati, Communication Specialist UNICEF Madhya Pradesh who was at the inaugural ceremony said that it is inspiring to see when decisions taken by adolescents are respected by the State, which is sign that voice of adolescents matter and we can bring the change for them. He thanked Harda Municipal Corporation and Synergy NGO which made this happen and followed up so that decision taken by Bhanu gets materialised. The gymn has latest equipment like electronic treadmill, multi workout machine, elliptical trainer, strength equipment's, weights etc with well carpeted floor in a municipal building. Ajay Pandit, CEO of Synergy, members of Municipal corporation, youth changeloomers were present at the inaugural event on Wednesday.
