Continuing action against those involved in smuggling of illicit liquor, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Haryana Police have seized 100 boxes of illicit Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth lakh of rupees from district Rewari.
Police have also arrested two persons and impounded a pick-up vehicle in this connection, said a spokesman of Police Department.
He said that arrested accused had been identified as Vinod Kumar, driver, a resident of Dadri and Shrikant of Jhanjharia. During preliminary investigation, accused revealed that they had brought liquor from Jharli and transporting it to supply in Dahina, the spokesman said.
He said that police team on getting a tip-off had put barricades near village Bahala in Rewari and arrested both accused with pick-up van having 100 boxes of IMFL worth Rs four lakh. A case under Excise Act had been registered against the accused and further investigation is on, he added.
