A day after wife and son of a Additional Sessions Judge (ADJ) were shot at by their Personal Security Officer (PSO) in Gurugram, Haryana Police chief Director General B S Sandu to avert such incidents in future has decided to appoint counsellors across the State to keep an eye on police personnel suffering from mental illness and disorders.
Talking to The Pioneer, DGP said “Yes, we have decided to appoint such counsellors along with committee who will deal with the mental illness of the Haryana police personnel and time to time a counselling seminar will be organised for the personnel,”
Talking more about the present case the DGP said it has been cleared that the arrested accused was behind the crime.
“The motive behind the incident is not clear yet. The accused on police remand and we are trying to ascertain the actual reason behind the ghastly act. As of now our top priority to solve the case,” Sandhu said.
“If the head constable had any issue to perform his duty he should have approached to his seniors and filed a complaint, he said.
“The police personnel in the state perform their duties under acute pressure. They didn’t get proper rests and holidays. Which cause serious health decrease and raise metal disorder in the police personnel,” a senior officer on the condition of anonymity, said.
