HC CJ opens newly built court premises at Sohna subdivision

Chief Justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Krishna Murari on Sunday inaugurated the newly built court premises at Sohna subdivision of district Gurugram.

He also laid foundation stone of Lawyers’ chambers to be constructed in the newly built court premises and took part in the Bhoomi Poojan program organized for the construction of Lawyers’ chambers.

Senior Judges including Justice Mahesh Grover, Justice Ramendra Jain, Justice Rajbir Sahrawat, Justice Anil Kshetrapal, Justice Arun Monga and Justice Ravi Kumar Sondhi were also present.

On the occasion, Justice Krishna Murari said that inauguration of this premises gave him the opportunity to visit this historic city (Sohna) and  expressed gratitude to the Haryana Public Works Department (PWD), Department of Architecture and the Building Committee of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, who have got constructed the court premises, and also congratulated them for their diligent efforts.

 The Chief Justice said that construction of this court complex would speed up the justice and hearing of cases and it would also help the people to settle their disputes simultaneously.

He said that a Litigant Hall have also been made for the convenience of the people.

He urged the people to  keep this court premises clean so that it can be kept environment friendly. He said that it is the moral duty of all of us to keep the area clean, wherever we are.

 He also appealed to the people and the members of Bar Association to use water, electricity, etc. in the court premises according to their need.

The court premises has been constructed in 4.43 acres of land, in which eight court rooms have been built.

He added that administrative approval of Rs 21.68 crore was given for the construction of this premises but it has been constructed at a cost Rs 15 crore. All the rooms of the court are air-conditioned.

Earlier during Bhoomi Poojan of Lawyers’ chambers, Justice Krishna Murari also planted the saplings in the premises. On this occasion, officers of Public Works Department and office bearers of Sohna Bar Association were also  present besides other dignitaries.

Notably, the newly constructed court premises is three-storey, with eight court rooms, retiring rooms, hearing of cases room, steno room, litigant room, litigant canteen, Gents bar room, ladies bar room, bar library, lockup room, strong room, store, judicial record room, ramps for people with disabilities, two lifts, police guard room, high speed internet connectivity, CCTV camera, fire alarm and fire fighting system and also energy efficient lighting.
