The High Court of Uttarakhand has directed the State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (SIIDCUL) to file an affidavit within 10 days in a case regarding alleged sale of Government land at SIIDCUL Haridwar to companies and real estate enterprises at cheap rates.
The case was taken up for hearing by the division bench of chief justice Ramesh Ranganathan and justice Ramesh Chandra Khulbe on Wednesday.
Dehradun resident Deepak Azad had filed a public interest litigation in the High Court stating that Government land at SIIDCUL Haridwar had been sold at cheap rates with the connivance of officials concerned to companies and real estate enterprises. The land which had a circle rate of Rs 20,507 per square metre in 2007 was sold at Rs 6,500 per square metre in 2012.
This clearly shows that the officials concerned had facilitated the sale of Government land at undervalue, the petitioner contended.
Hearing the averments of the petitioner, the high court division bench directed SIIDCUL to file a detailed affidavit in the court within ten days. The case is slated to be taken up for hearing next after 10 days.
