Health insurance for senior citizens demanded

The Biju Patnaik Senior Citizens’ Forum, Brahmapur recently sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the RDC (Southern Range), demanding fulfilment of nine demands, including health insurance coverage of all senior citizens.

“The Government should implement the health insurance scheme for all senior citizens and provide wheat at a fair price to the senior citizens residing in municipalities, semi-urban areas and NACs.

Those who are residing in rented houses should be provided accommodation at a cheapr price,” demanded forum president Rasha Bihari Das and other members.

They also demanded concession in ticket prices of city and long-journy buses and construction of five more recreation centres with TVs and indoor game facilities in the city.

Besides, they demanded a house for the forum free of cost and opening of a Geriatrics Department in the MKCG Medical College Hospital.

Among others, forum VP Prabhakar Sahu, general secretary Simanchal Prasad Bisoyi, secretary Purnachandra Maharana, Surjyakant Patra, Rabindra Kumar Maharana and Prasant Das were present.
