Hindi play on Ashfaq’s life staged

The revolutionary who was a part of Kakori Train Roberry Ashfaq Ulla Khan was hanged on December 19, 1927. The Hindi play ‘Jiyo Ashfaq Jiyo’ narrating the sacrifices of Ashfaq Ullah Khan and other revolutionaries will be staged at Shaheed Bhavan Auditorium here on Thursday.

The play will be performed to pay a tribute to him on his death anniversary.  It will be held under the two day event Desh Raag organized Directorate of Swaraj Sansthan, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

It is to be noted that Ashfaq Ullah Khan was one of the revolutionaries who fought fearlessly with the British along with Bhagat Singh and Chandrashekhar Azad.

The play will throw light on the revolutionary activities of Ashfaq Ullah Khan and his colleagues Ramprasad Bismil, Roshan Singh and Rajendranath Lahiri. Various untimely aspects of heroism of Ashfaq Ullah Khan and his fellow revolutionaries was seen in the drama.

Their fearless eyes, the heroic enthusiasm and the motive to throw British out of this country were the weapons of these revolutionaries. They left no stone unturned to give up on British, however they were tortured till the end.

To give a fillip to their movement Kakori conspiracy and buy arms and ammunation to carry out their activities, the revolutionaries organised a meeting on August 8 1925 in Shahjahanpur. After a lot of deliberations it was decided to loot the government treasury carried in the trains.

On August 9 1925, Khan and other revolutionaries, looted the train carrying British government money in Kakori near Lucknow.
