Valuables worth lacs of rupees were burgled from Ivory residency at BDA Colony under Koh-e-Fiza police station area on Tuesday.
Police said that the house of the victim Zahida Parvez who was prime accused in murder case of RTI activist Shehla Masood was targeted by miscreants and escaped with gold and diamond jewelry worth lakhs of rupees.
The victim works as Architect and has an office in MP Nagar where she was present at the time of the incident. In her complaint, she stated police, that on Tuesday afternoon she left for her office in MP Nagar area and after work when she returned home around 7 she found that lock of the main door was broken and valuables were found burgled. The gold and silver jewelry and diamond jewelry were found burgled.
The Investigating Officer KS Thakur said that the victim remains alone at her house and is yet to provide list of goods burgled and would provide the list after checking the details of the burgled goods. The loss occurred to the victim in the burglary would be provided later.
After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and started further investigation.
The almirah having the valuables was targeted while other valuables were not disturbed. The domestic help and locals would be questioned in the further investigation, said police. Police have started further investigation and said that the CCTV installed in the nearby areas would be investigated.
