Haryana Government will set up ‘state bhavan’ at ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Complex’ near the Statue of Unity in Gujarat.

“The ‘state bhavan’ would facilitate tourists  from Haryana in their visit to the statue of Unity. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has accepted the proposal of Gujarat Chief Minister, Vijay Rupani to set up ‘State Bhavan’ at ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Complex’,” said an official spokesman.

He said that ‘state bhavan’ would be set up on a land measuring 1500 square meters to be allotted by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust (SVPRET) at a token rate of Rs 51 lakh. This amount would be ploughed back in to develop common infrastructure and to maintain ‘Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat Complex’. The state bhawan would be independently operated by the Haryana Government, he added.

The spokesman said that Gujarat Government is building the iconic ‘Statue of Unity’ to rededicate ourselves to the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in building a modern, strong, prosperous and resilient India. To make this monument a truly national monument with collective ownership, it has been decided set up an area near the ‘Statue of Unity’ as ‘Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat Complex’, which would house various state bhavans, he said.

He further said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi would dedicate the ‘statue of unity’ to the nation on October 31. The ‘statue of unity’ project was conceptualized by Narendra Modi when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat to commemorate the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India to nation building.

This world class memorial would attract over 25 lakh tourists every year. The 182 meters high bronze plated status of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is an iconic and world’s tallest statue of nearly twice the height of Statue of Liberty, the spokesman said.

Recently, the Prime Minister had unveiled the 64-feet tall statue of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram, a messiah of farmers, at Sampla in Rohtak. This is the tallest statue in Haryana, which has been built by the recipient of Padma Bhushan, Ram Vanji Sutar, a sculptor. As many as 5,500 farmers of the state had donated from half kg to 2 kg iron metal for the construction of this statue.
