IGRMS to organise Tribal Literature Festival in Bhopal

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal is organizing Tribal Literature Festival with the aim of bringing the cultural and literary reserves of tribal inhabitants into mainstream. This festival will commence from December 14, 2018.

This Programme will be inaugurated by Prof TV Kattimani, Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak and Shravan Kumar, Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of culture at Tribal Habitat from 11 am. The Kathe Lekha- An Exhibition on ‘Wooden Form of Expressions’ and Kanjali– A Workshop on ‘Traditional Art and Craft’ will be also inaugurated, as well as publishers of Tribal Literature from across the country, will also display a book exhibition.

Thereafter, the Panel Discussion on ‘Tribal Literature: Contribution and Concerns’, in which the participants will present their thoughts on the topic. As well as the legendary readers of the tribes from all over the country, the scholars of literary traditions will give their presentations.

Cultural presentations progaramme ‘Akhra’ will commence from 6 pm, in which the cultural artists from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and Madhya Pradesh will present their presentations (ie Dhol Cholam, Pung Cholam, Ju-Ju, Jaa-Jaa Danace, and Cherav Dance).

‘Jayaka’ is the Major attraction of this programme. In this, resident of Bhopal will Enjoy the delights of traditional dishes of Bastar (Chhattisgarh), Manipur, Assam and Madhaya Pradesh. This function will last till December 16, 2018.
