Painting competition

On the eve of 18th State Foundation Day a painting competition was organized by Art, Culture, Sports, Youth Affairs department for kids at Audrey House here on Wednesday. Over 150 students took part in the competition, which was open to all school, college students in three categories. Senior artist of the State Vinod Kumar was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Deputy Director of the department Amitabh Kumar was the Guest of Honour. Senior artist Vinod Ranjan convened the programme, while it was run by Kamal Kumar Bose.

Lit Night 2018 at BIT, Mesra

Literary Society, BIT Mesra organized Lit Night here on Wednesday. The event was graced by the presence of the Dean Students' Welfare, Dr. Mahesh Chandra and the faculty advisor of the club, Dr. Sanjay Kumar. The night commenced with a poetry by Sandhya Kumari, followed by a dance on a poetry delivered by Mansi Sharma and performed on by Samriddhi Mishra and Ritik Tripathi. Next up, the English Thespian Impressions on the topic 'Globalisation', with performers acting as Deadpool, Edna Mode, Danereys and Severus Snape captivated the audience. The most awaited part of the night 'Kavi Sammelan’ followed next in which the students presented poems on a wide array of topics. The final act for the event, a stand-up comedy by Anant Agnihotri left the audience in splits.

 Jaiswal visits Chhath Ghats

On the pious occasion of Chhatt, former general secretary of the state Congress committee from Jharkhand Aditya Vikram Jaiswal visited the various Chhath ghats in the Capital City. Addressing the Chhatt devotees he prayed for their well- being and spoke about how the tradition of praying to Sun God began. Swami of Yogda Satsang, Mahendra Choudhary and Shyam Nayak were also present among others.

Pandit Nehru remembered

Rich tributes were paid to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Ministers of Independent India on the occasion of his birth anniversary across Bokaro district on Wednesday. Beside others employees of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) including Executive Director of BSL Dr. AK Singh, Executive Director (Material Management) HP Singh, Executive Director,  RC Shrivastav, General Manager (Finance and Accounts), BV Srinivas, General Manager and other senior officers garlanded the statue of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and paid floral tributes.

 Children's Day at KUG School

Children’s Day was celebrated at the KUG School, Hindapirdi, by the International Organization Round Table on the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. On this occasion, the officials and school children of the institution presented wreaths on the painting of Pandit Nehru. The stationery materials were distributed among the children of the school on behalf of the institution. Aditya Vikram Jaiswal said that only when the children of the State will read, the State will grow. Jaiswal further said that he has donated computer sets to the School Management. Round Table Lady Women Circle Chairperson Sonal Minocha emphasized on imparting education among the girls. Lokesh Sahu, Chairman of Round Table 160 said that the furniture will be arranged by the institution for the school.
