Chaudhari appointed UTU V-C

Dehradun: Uttarakhand governor and chancellor of the Uttarakhand Technical University, Baby Rani Maurya has appointed Narendra Shivaji Chaudhari as the vice chancellor of the Uttarakhand Technical University. The governor’s secretary RK Sudhanshu informed that, Chaudhari is a professor of computer science and engineering at Indian Institute of Technology  (IIT) Indore. His term as the vice chancellor of UTU in Dehradun will be for a period of three years from the date of assuming charge or till he reaches the age of retirement, whichever comes first.

Tisva forays into Uttarakhand

Dehradun: Tisva, the home decorative lighting brand from Usha International Limited, launched its studio in Dehradun. Speaking on the occasion, Vikas Gandhi, senior vice president – Lighting and Premium Fans said, “Increasingly, customers in tier two markets in India are demanding premium options for every aspect of their homes, offering a great potential for growth. Our lighting solutions have been received very well in cities like Baroda, Jalandhar, Jaipur and we hope this new store will follow suit.” The studio has a customised experience zone which showcases latest lighting concepts like new age dimmable spotlights and down lights, and innovative Elysian lights featuring Japanese technology that create light from a choice of colour selection ranging from warm white to cool daylight, allowing customers to choose the best lighting narrative for their homes.

SIMT marks Children’s Day

Rudrapur: The occasion of Children’s Day was also commemorated in the Saraswati Institute of Management and Technology at Gadarpur. The institute’s education depatment head SK Tripathi directed the programme commemorated by all students and teaching faculty. The students presented a cultural programme and also expressed their views on the occasion. The institute chairman Hariom Garg, CEO Samip Gandhi, director MK Sharma and others were also present on the occasion.
