Cleanliness fortnight at IINRG

National Sanitation Fortnight is being celebrated in the Indian Natural Resin and Gum Institute from December 16 to 31. During this period, the Director in-charge Dr. Nirmal Kumar administered the oath of cleanliness to all officers and employees. The old unnecessary papers and goods will be disposed off on December 17-18 and on December 19, the team of scientists of the institute will work in the villages adopted under the 'My Village My Gaurav' and will give cleanliness message to the villagers, women and children. Special cleansing of the drains of housing houses will be done in the institute on 20-21 December. On December 22, the lecture will be lecture by experts about cleanliness among trainee farmers and officials. Farmer's Day will be organized on December 23 in a well-known village. Cleanliness of some tourist place will be promoted on December 25.

SBPS students trained for Sohrai

With an aim of reviving interest towards indigenous art and art forms among the new generation, a 15-day workshop was organised by Sarala Birla Public School on Sohrai Painting- The traditional art of Jharkhand. Students were trained by the guest faculties from STAMBH organisation. They taught the pupils motifs from wildlife and nature, symbolic representations and bold strokes. School Head Personnel & Admin Pradip Varma said that Sohrai is the traditional art form of Jharkhand and we want to encourage our children to be aware of the same. Principal Paramjit Kaur said that such initiatives are taken to make the learners proud of their heritage and connect with their roots.

Workshop at Kairali School

A workshop on health, hygiene and personality development was organized on the premises of Kairali School, Ranchi on Monday. Vandana Kanak, spokesperson ‘Procter and Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Limited’, informed students about adolescent health and hygiene. Referring to mothers, she requested them to be best friends to their daughters to be more responsible mothers. Suggestions related to adolescent problems, theirs preventions and personality development were discussed. Workshop was attended by girls from class 6 to 8. Vice-President Suja Pillai, Geeta Parthasarthi and other teachers were also present.

EWA meet held in Ranchi

The annual alumni reunion of Ex-Westcottian Association (EWA) was organised here. About 350 ex students both from Bishop Westcott's girls and Bishop Westcott's boys school attended the ceremony along with the principals of both schools. Teachers and the former teachers were also present on the occasion. Alumni from America, Nepal, Australia among others attended the programme. Renowned ad characters like Trivago's Abhinav and Paisa Dukan's Rajeev Ranjan shared their old memories and new experiences . Cultural programmes including a rock show by an old teacher Philip Hansen were a hit among everyone .
