Himachal Guv, CM felicitate people on  Dussehra

Shimla: Himachal Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur have felicitated the people of the state on the pious occasion of Dussehra. The Governor said, Dussehra festival symbolizes victory of good over evil and hoped that the festival would be celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the state. The Chief Minister has also extended felicitations to the people of the state on this occasion. He wished that the Dussehra festival would bring happiness, peace and prosperity in the lives of the people of the state.

Haryana CM greets people on Dussehra

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal extended greetings to the people of the State on the eve of  auspicious occasion of Dussehra festival. The Chief Minister said that Dussehra symbolises the triumph of good over evil. This festival inspires us to end all evils and to adopt values and virtues in life. Such festivals are a symbol of our rich cultural and religious heritage. Therefore, people should come together to celebrate this festival to eliminate all evil forces, he said. He wished that the festival would bring happiness, peace and prosperity in the lives of the people of Haryana.

Hry DGP unveils new building of headquarters

Chandigarh: Haryana Police witnessed a major transformation in its infrastructure with the inauguration of newly renovated building of Police Headquarters by the Director General of Police, BS Sandhu in Panchkula on Thursday. The renovated building has been made air-conditioned which houses state-of-art facilities for all officers and officials of the State Police as well as visitors including two number high-speed glass lifts, energy efficient lighting having LED lights, 100 per cent power backup, fire fighting and fire alarm system etc. The DGP also thanked the Chief Minister Manohar Lal for extending all out support for upgradation of police infrastructure for better policing.  The building was renovated with an approximate cost of Rs 6.81 crore after about 25 years of construction.

Geeta Kapur appointed Director (Personnel), SJVN

Shimla: Geeta Kapur has been appointed Director (Personnel) of Mini Ratna Schedule ‘A’ Public Sector Undertaking SJVN Limited by Government of India. Prior to this, Kapur was holding the post of General Manger (HR) in SJVN.  She succeeds Nand Lal Sharma who has been elevated to the post of Chairman & Managing Director on December 1, 2017. Kapur was first women officer to join SJVN HR Department and now, she is the first women functional Director of SJVN.  Geeta Kapur joined SJVN in 1992 as Personnel Officer.

Bank of Baroda to launch special lounge

Chandigarh: Showing that it cares for the senior citizens, Bank of Baroda has come up with a unique concept of senior citizen lounge - PRERNA, wherein senior citizens are provided a homely comfort zone and a completely dedicated team. One such senior citizen Lounge is being launched at the Bank’s Sector 22-B branch here. The lounge will be inaugurated by Regional Director of the Reserve Bank of Indian Rachna Dixit and Zonal Head of the Bank of Baroda, Rakesh Bhatia. Sanjay Gupta of the Bank of Baroda, Sector 22-B said, “The concept has driven its name from the inspiration that our elderly always give. Here we have a completely dedicated team for our senior customers who have been associated with us for long.”

2 Punjab IPS officers transferred

Chandigarh: Punjab Government has issued transfer and posting orders of 2 IPS Officers on administrative grounds with immediate effect. A spokesperson said that as per orders  Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota has been posted as ADGP, Railway, Punjab whereas Rohit Choudhary has been posted as ADGP, Prisons.

Satluj Six-A-Side Football Tournry from Saturday

Panchkula: Satluj Fourth edition of Six-A-Side Football Tournament 2018 will begin on Saturday at Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula. The two-day tournament, which will conclude on Sunday has 13 teams which are  participating. The prize distribution ceremony will be held on Sunday afternoon.  Principal Krit Serai said, “All participating school students will be given certificates and winners will be given trophies. The aim is to encourage the game of football at school level.”

 PGI OPDs closed on  Oct 19

Chandigarh: All OPDs in PGIMER shall remain closed on October 19 on account of Dussehra, a gazetted holiday. Emergency services will function as usual.

 Hry Governor pays obeisance at Mansa Devi Temple

Chandigarh: Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya paid his obeisance at Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula. He has also extended his greetings to the people of the state for Navratras and Dussehra. The Governor along with Lady Governor, Saraswati Devi and son, Kaushal Kishore offered prayers, performed yajana and did kanya pujan by duly following all rituals at the Shrine. He also prayed for progress and prosperity  for the people  of the state. MP Ambala, Ratan Lal Kataria was also present on the occasion. he Governor also offered prayers at Kali Mata Temple, Kalka and also paid obeisance at   Gurudwara Pehli Patshahi.
