Mining Technology Forum organised

Continuing its series of sector-specific forums and platforms, Shell Lubricants hosted its 2nd Technology Forum for the mining sector at Jamshedpur. Attended by leading industry experts and senior officials, the event discussed insights on specific industry trends, challenges, best practices, and deliberated upon the future of the mining industry.

Additionally, the forum also discussed the technological edge provided by lubricants in reducing the Total Cost of Ownership.

Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) represents Shell’s approach to lubrication as an essential value-chain component to enhance profitability. Praveen Nagpal, chief technology officer, Shell Lubricants India said, “Mining is a significant sector in the Indian industrial landscape and a priority to Shell with plenty of opportunities.

With the 2nd Mining Technology Forum, we aim to discuss the key challenges for the mining industry, be it energy challenges, productivity, sustainability, environmental regulations and the need to optimize Total Cost of Ownership.

Durga Puja at BIT Mesra Campus

Amid much gusto, Durga Puja is being celebrated in Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra campus.

From decking up the puja pandal with special lighting effects to organising cultural event, this year, quite a number of initiatives have been taken up.

The residents of the campus are turning out in large numbers to participate.

Save 50 per cent on monthly bills

The largest telecom service provider in India, today announced a partnership with Citibank offering a unique proposition to its post-paid customers. In a first-of-its-kind offer, Vodafone and Idea post-paid customers can avail up to 50% discount on their monthly rental bills. 

To avail this offer, a customer simply has to apply for a new Citibank credit card and spend just INR 4000 within 60 days of the card issuance. Vodafone and Idea customers using Vodafone Red or Idea Nirvana plans of INR 399 and higher can enjoy a value proposition of cashback worth INR 2400 for a year on their post-paid rentals. The cashback would be offered at a rate of Rs. 200 per month for 12 bills.

Special Camps from Measles Rubella

Special Camps for Measles Rubella started on October 14 will continue till October 24. The Civil Surgeon Office released the list of 19 hospitals where vaccination is being given to the children (between 9 months to 15 years).

Blood Donation Camp organised

Syndicate Bank organised a blood donation camp and a customer fair on Monday. The camp was organised in collaboration with Jharkhand AIDS Control Society. As many as 29 unit blood was collected during the camp. Besides the bank staffs, a few customers too donated their blood.

Special trains to ease down rush

Taking into account the two major festivals, Durga Puja and Diwali, the South Eastern (SE) Railway has made special arrangements for the travelers considering the festive rush. Special arrangement of Hatia-Pune-Hatia Superfast Special has been made for the passengers. The special train (02846) service will start from October 17 and will continue till November 14.

The train will ferry travelers on every Wednesday from Hatia Railway Station to Pune Junction.

Additional charges will be also incurred upon the passengers. As per the schedule released by the Ranchi Rail Division on October 11, on every Friday from October 19 to November 16, the special train (02845) will leave from Pune to Ranchi.

According to the communiqué, additional arrangements of 15 coaches, two parcels/ generator cars including 13 AC three-tier has been done in the special train to manage the crowd. The Hatia-Pune-Hatia train will cover major destinations like Rourkela, Bilaspur, Nagpur, Bhusawal and vice-versa.
