State to extend 7th pay commission’s benefits

Chandigarh: Haryana Government has decided to extend benefit of seventh Pay Commission to the teaching staff and equivalent cadres in three technical universities of the State falling under Higher Education Department. A proposal to this effect has been approved by the Chief Minister Manohar Lal, said the state Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu on Monday adding that these included Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA Faridabad and Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal. The revised pay would be implemented from January 1, 2016, and would have financial implication of over Rs 10 crore on the state exchequer, he added.

Haryana CM condoles Ananth Kumar’s demise

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Monday expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Union Fertiliser and Chemicals and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar, who breathed his last at Bangaluru. Chief Minister, in his condolence message, said that Kumar was a hardworking leader and his demise has left a void which cannot be filled. He expressed deepest condolences towards the bereaved family members and prayed the Almighty that the departed soul might rest in peace.

Sangrur MP donates Rs 20L to PGI under MPLAD

Chandigarh: Sangrur MP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Bhagwant Mann has donated Rs 20 lakh to Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, (PGIMER) under MPLAD fund. The amount has been transferred by Sangrur Deputy Commissioner to his Chandigarh counterpart for the purchase of stainless steel patient trolleys to be used for patients being treated in Emergency, Advanced Trauma Centre and New OPD block of the Institute. Over 10,000 patients visit hospital every day for diagnosis and treatment of their ailments.

 Workshop of HP State Pollution Control Board

Shimla: The HP State Pollution Control Board and Urban Development Department, Himachal Pradesh organized a one-day Regional Level Workshop on implementation of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 & other Waste Management Rules cum Review meeting for various Schemes and Projects being implemented by Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of Kangra, Chamba, Hamirpur and Una Districts at Dharamshala on Monday.  R.K. Pruthi, Member Secretary, HP State Pollution Control Board and Director Urban Development Department, delivered the keynote address on the current status of various provisions of the rules and implementation of Solid Waste Management in the state particularly in the districts of Kangra, Hamirpur, Chamba and Una.

S.K. Shandil, Environment Engineer, HP State Pollution Control Board gave a detailed presentation on various provisions of Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 and also discussed  the directions of NGT and its effective implementation.Manoj Chauhan, Principal Scientific Officer, made a presentation on domestic hazardous waste and bio-medical Waste Management Rules.

BSNL bills go paperless

Chandigarh: The subscribers of Chandigarh SSA (comprising Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula areas) will get BSNL bills only on registered e-mail id and SMS on registered mobile numbers after November 2018. For the same, the correct e-mail ids can be registered in case not done earlier. The itemised bill can be downloaded from www.selfcare.ndc.bsnl.co.in. The online payment facility is available at www.bsnl.co.in, besides other options — at BSNL CSCs, Post offices, e-Sampark centers, Suvidha centers and electronic channels for convenience.

Dena Bank observes Vigilance Awareness Week

Ludhiana: On Vigilance Awareness Week,  the employees of Dena Bank from Ludhiana Centre, under the leadership of Zonal Manager YK Gupta and Dy Zonal Manager, RK Singh, formed a human chain at Sector 32, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana. They also spread awareness about vigilance in the society. The program was conducted by ZVO - Dena Bank Kamlesh Gupta.

Unlimited launches its first store in Bathinda

New car servicing outlet opened

Panchkula: CarXpert  has set its expansion plan rolling with its first franchise workshop in Panchkula. A slew of other franchises are also slated for inauguration in the coming months. RD Autolinks is the first franchise workshop which has been made operational in the city, making low-cost high quality services available to customers.

NIT Kurukshetra to hold its 16th Convocation 

Kurukshetra: The 16th convocation of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra, will be organized at the Institute's open air theatre on Friday, November 16. NIT director Dr Satish Kumar said that Hero Moto Corp Limited chairman, managing director and chief executive officer Pawan Munjal, who did his graduation in Mechanical Engineering Department from the Institute, will be the chief guest. The presence of illustrious alumni Pawan Munjal at the convocation ceremony of the Institute will inspire the students to inspire their efforts to work hard and bring innovation, he said.
