get inspiration from Bhagvad Gita: Hry Governor

Chandigarh: Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya on Tuesday said that we should get inspiration from the teachings of holy scripture – Bhagvad Gita and always help every poor and needy person which would lead to overall prosperity of the society. Arya said this during his meeting with chairman of Haryana Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections Kalyan Nigam, Ram Chander Jangra here at Raj Bhawan. The Governor was apprised about various schemes and programs being run by the Haryana Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections Kalyan Nigam. He suggested that the benefit of the welfare schemes implemented by the Government should reach to every needy person.

Pb excise & taxation staff hand over day’s salary

Chandigarh: In response to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s appeal, officers and inspectors of the Excise and Taxation Department have contributed a day’s salary for the flood-hit Kerala state.  A delegation of the department, led by Additional Chief Secretary MP Singh, handed over a cheque of Rs 10,93,709 to the Chief Minister, an official spokesperson said. Appreciating the gesture, the Chief Minister said that Punjab was among the first states to extend help to the people of Kerala and had dispatched four plane loads of 150 MT each of relief material, apart from other contributions.

Devpreet joins as ADG PIB

Chandigarh: An Indian Information Service (IIS) officer of 1992 batch, Devpreet Singh has taken over as Additional Director General (northern region), Press Information Bureau (PIB). As Additional Director General PIB, Devpreet Singh would also serve as Additional Press Registrar, Registrar Newspapers for India (RNI), Govt. of India. Being the senior most IIS officer at Chandigarh she will be the Chairperson of Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) for the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and UT Chandigarh. She will also be Additional Director General (Northern Region) consisting of  Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and UT Chandigarh for all the units of Ministry of I&B.

Sunanda bags 2 titles at Mrs India Earth contest

Chandigarh: Sunanda Sharma from Patiala has won two titles namely “Mrs. Timeless Beauty” and “Pride of Punjab” in the recently concluded finale of prestigious Mrs. India Earth-2018 in New Delhi at Hotel ITC Welcome Hotel Dwaraka (New Delhi). Ms. India Earth 2017 and Ms. United Nation 2018 Shyna Sunsara crowned Mrs. Sunanda Sharma. Post her win, she thanked Directors Ritika Vinay and Vinay Yadav of Mrs. India Earth 2018 for given her the opportunity to express and explore herself.

7,337 machines given to farmers

Chandigarh: Acting on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Punjab Agriculture department has so far delivered 7337 subsidized agro-machines/farm equipment to farmers for the effective scientific management of paddy residue. Secretary Agriculture KS Pannu said that the department is working to ensure the delivery of the machines before the onset of paddy harvesting, in line with the CM’s commitment to the elimination of the menace of stubble burning from the state. All the Deputy Commissioners had been directed to aggressively pursue the campaign to end stubble burning – a major cause for pollution in the north India.  Under the scheme, subsidy of 50% was being provided to individual farmers, and 80% to the cooperative societies and CHCs, said Pannu. In all, 24315 machines shall be supplied to farmers and coop societies this season.

350 posts created in FDA

Chandigarh: Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that 350 posts have been created in Food and Drugs Administration on which recruitment would soon be made. This would strengthen the system to check adulteration in food items, he said. Vij also said that after implementation of the Food Safety Act in 2011, there were only 10 Food Safety Officers working in the state which was causing barrier in conducting proper check throughout the state. But the present State Government took this matter on priority and started process for creation of posts. The Finance Department has approved the creation of these posts which would soon be filled, he added.

Online centralised combined counseling to be held

Chandigarh: Haryana Government would conduct online centralized combined counselling for admission to ANM, GNM, MPHW (M) courses in government and private nursing schools in the State for the academic session 2018-19. The detailed process explaining the procedure for admission can be downloaded from the website www.dmerharyana.org. A spokesman of the Haryana Nurse and Nurse-Midwives Council said that under first round of admissions, the candidates can get themselves registered up to September 25 by 11:59 PM. The merit list would be displayed on September 28. The candidates can give their preference or choice filling of institution or course for the first round of counselling from September 29 to October 1 by 11:59 PM.

Hry invites applications

Chandigarh: Haryana Women and Child Development Department has invited applications for the recruitment of 13 posts of various categories for State After Care Home and Special Home Sonipat by September 20. A spokesperson said that the applications could be filled upto September 20 on the prescribed performa available at the department website www.wcdhry.gov.in. The selected candidates will be called for the interview as per the fixed date. All these posts will be filled for a period of one year on contract basis, he added.

Hindi Pakhwada concluded

Chandigarh: The concluding and prize distribution ceremony of Hindi Pakhwada 2018 was held at the BSNL office, Sector 34 here.CGM Punjab SK GUPTA distributed prizes to all the deserving winners. The staff members of the BSNL were also present on the occasion.
