Subarnapur GRS held taking bribe
Cuttack: The Vigilance police on Tuesday caught Subarnapur district’s Binka block Gram Rojagar Sevak (GRS) Amit Kumar Agarwal red-handed for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000. He was caught in the Singhijuba GP office while taking the bribe from Satyananda Bhue of Sarguna village in Subarnapur district for preparing and forwarding the bill of Rs 30,000 and Rs 16,530 towards last instalment and labour wages for 95 days, respectively, for construction of a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The GRS was arrested and forwarded to court.
Barunei Assn celebrates Vishwakarma Puja
Khordha: The Barunei Industrial Association of te Khordha Industrial Estate celebrated Vishwakarma Puja here on Monday. Association president Siba Narayan Mishra, general secretary Tapas Ranjan Das and all other members were present during the rituals. Mishra said the association has been celebrating the puja with religious fervour since 20 years. On the occasion, Prasad was distributed and a cultural programme was organised.
NTPC Kaniha bags National Safety Award
Talcher: The NTPC Talcher Kaniha received the National Safety Award under Scheme of Accident-Free Year for the year 2016 from the Union Government on Monday. Talcher Kaniha GM (O and M) AK Tripathy received the award from Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar in New Delhi.
NTPC Talcher Kaniha observes Vishwakarma Puja
Talcher: Vishwakarma Puja was celebrated with religious fervour at NTPC Talcher Kaniha on Monday. NTPC Talcher Kaniha Executive Director Sanjeev Kishore along with Tanvi Sangam president Monika Kishore attended the puja along with senior officials, members of Tanvi Sangam, employees, representatives of employees’ union and association. As part of the tradition, a community prasad sevan programme was organised for employees, workers and associates family members. A musical and cultural programme was also organised. The immersion function would be held on Wednesday.
