VP Badnore launches e-vigilance portal
Chandigarh: Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator VP Singh Badnore launched the e-Vigilance Portal at Punjab Raj Bhawan here. The Vigilance Clearance is required in respect of all the officers/officials of Chandigarh Administration on various occasions like promotion, ACP, Ex-India Leave, deputation, retirement etc. The process till date had been the manual one which took around 20 to 30 days, a spokesman said.To streamline the process and cut short the processing time, the Vigilance Department in collaboration with NIC, Chandigarh developed e-vigilance portal for the convenience of employees of the Chandigarh Administration. More than 33000 employees of Chandigarh Administration, Boards, Corporations & PSUs will get benefited from the e-Vigilance portal. The time for vigilance clearance has been cut short to maximum 2-3 working days, he said.
Annual ceremony held at KV AFS high ground
Chandigarh: KV AFS High Grounds celebrated its annual function here on Tuesday on the theme of ‘Swasth bache, Swasth Bharat’. The programme began with the scout and guides of the school welcoming the Chief

VB nabs revenue Patwari for taking bribe
Chandigarh: Punjab State Vigilance Bureau nabbed a Revenue Patwari red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 10,000. A spokesperson said Amardeep Dingh Mal, Patwari posted at Gobindpur in SBS Nagar district was nabbed red handed by Vigilance team for accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from complainant Tejinder Singh of village Gobindpur in SBS Nagar district. The complainant has approached the VB that the above said Patwari was demanding Rs 10,000 for the mutation of his land. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Jalandhar and further investigations was under progress.
Children learn making X-mas tree ornaments
Mohali: As part of the ongoing Christmas kids carnival at the Bestech mall, workshops of Christmas art are being organised daily for children. As part of this, nearly 200 school children, out of which the major number comprised of Manav Rachna International School, Mohali, attended a workshop on "Christmas tree ornaments making" conducted by experts. The children from the school made beautiful art which would finally be used to beautify Christmas trees.
