Int’l Folk Festival to be held in Panchkula on Sept 27

International Folk Festival, a cultural exchange programme will be organised in Haryana’s Panchkula on September 27.

The festival will witness participation of around 400 artists from various countries of Asia and Europe who will perform folk dances of their respective countries, besides Dhamaal and folk songs by artists of Haryana. The festival will be organized at Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula, said a spokesman of Arts and Cultural Affairs Department.

He said that this programme would start at 5 pm and conclude at 8 pm. This program is being organized by the State Government in co-ordination with the Department of Arts and Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh University and Rhythm Group, he said.

The spokesman also said that the participants of the programme included artists, folk dancers from many countries including Germany, China, Brazil, Russia, Italy, South Korea, South Africa, Ukraine, Thailand, Turkey, Colombia, Singapore, and Czech Republic. During this programme, national award winning folk dance of Haryana, Dhamaal would also be performed, he added.
