Secretary Tourism Dilip Jawalkar held a meeting at Rishikesh to review the preparations for the coming ‘Investors Summit’ on Saturday. In the meeting, Jawalkar instructed the officials of the Irrigation department, Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN), National Highway Development Authority, police department, Nagar Palika, Haridwar Development Authority, PWD, forest department, Tehri district administration and local administration to complete all the necessary arrangements for the summit by September 30.
He asked the irrigation department to complete the construction works at the ghats and the stairs for the “Ganga Aarti” programme to be held during ‘Investors Summit’ and Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) to complete the repair works at Ganga Resorts by September 30 so that all the arrangements are completed on time. Jawalkar asked the police department to prepare a traffic plan and asked for identification of separate routes for arrival and departure of a large number of investors on different roads and deployment of sufficient number of police force for managing the traffic.
Secretary Tourism inspected the places where the summit will be held and asked the Haridwar Development Authority to make all necessary arrangements at the place. The National Highways Authority representatives were instructed to repair the roads by September 30.
It is to be mentioned that ‘Investors Summit’ is being organised in the state in October.
He made it clear that after the declaration of tourism as an industry, the holding of such a summit is every important.
Among those present at the meeting were the nodal officer K K Mishra, district magistrate Tehri, SDM Narendranagar, SDM Rishikesh, executive officer Nagar Palika and officials of PWD, power departments and officers and representatives of National Highways Development Authority.
