Jharkhand delegation to attend inauguration

A delegation of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) including senior politicians and office bearers of the BJP would visit Sadhu Bet riverbed of Narmada River in Gujarat where the world’s tallest ‘Statue of Unity’ is to be dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 of this month.

The list of visitors may also include Chief Minister Raghubar Das as Minister of Revenue inGujaratGovernment Kaushik Bhai Patel would meet him and Governor Droupadi Murmu on Monday to extend formal invitation for the ceremony to them.

The visiting Minister from Gujarat along with Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand Parimal Nathwani on Sunday met office bearers of FJCCI and extended the invitation to them. The 182 meter ‘Statue of Unity’ is dedicated to country’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and being built after collecting iron equipments from all over the country.

Jharkhand has been one of the premier States which contributed in the making of the ‘Statue of Unity’. A campaign in the had taken place in January, 2014 aimed to collection of iron made equipments used in agricultural activities in villages spreading across length and breadth of the State.

Panchayat level representatives had actively participated into the collection drive and as many as 4,000 collection kits across were distributed amongst them comprising invitation letters to them, a signature form to seek “moral support” of people, posters, and bags for collecting soil and iron tools.

“Jharkhand has contributed its bit to the statue making which is largest in the world. It is a matter of pride for the people of the State to take part in the inauguration ceremony. The team from Gujarat met us and representatives from FJCCI would surely attend the ceremony,” said FJCCI general secretary Kunal Ajmani.

Besides that, organizations like Patanjali Yogapeeth, members of Vikas Bharati, Citizen Foundation and several other likeminded organisations would also go to Gujarat that had played their roles in building public opinion at grass root level.

The statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is coming up on Sadhu Bet riverbed of Narmada River and around 3 km from the Sardar Sarovar dam and scheduled to be unveiled on October 31by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the iron man’s birth anniversary.
