Jharkhand youths to represent India in World Skill competition

Two youths – Sajad Ansari and Prakash Sharma from Jharkhand after crossing difficult rounds in Skill competition organised at State, Regional and National level are all set to represent the country in the upcoming World Skill – 2019 competition. The event will be organised in Kazan, Russia.

Giving tough competition to its counterparts, Ansari will showcase his talent in Auto Body Repair Trade while Sharma will rub his shoulder to beat his competitors in Car Painting challenge.

Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society (JSDMS) released the list of successful candidates on October 6.

According to the press communiqué released by JSDMS, the National Skill competition was organised at New Delhi from October 2 to October 5. 

As per the result, candidates from Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh will represent India in Auto Body Repair Trade. During the three days challenge, the candidates had to take up several challenges in Auto Body Repair Trade category ranging from designing to metal body painting. Similarly, in Car Painting challenge Sharma including a candidate from Uttarakhand will represent the country.

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) will give Rs. 75,000 to the qualifying candidates for showing phenomenal performance in the national round. Also, one year insurance of Rs. 1 lakh will be given to the candidates by Paytm. Besides, JSDMS will give Rs. 1 lakh to each candidate for this tremendous victory.

“This is a matter of great pride for the people of Jharkhand. Our organisation will support the youths in all their ventures. Attempts are being made to provide all essential facilities to the candidates,” said Mission Director, JSDMS, Ravi Ranjan.

JSDMS, the nodal organisation had invited applications from eligible candidates in March 2018 to select the most suitable candidates for the upcoming International Mega Skill contest.

The organization collaborated with some of the best companies to polish the skills of the selected candidates.

The district and State level contest organised by JSDMS in April 2018 was held in 12 trades. The organisation had selected as many as 14 trades for the district and State level competitions.

The contestants were given opportunities to showcase their skills in bakery, cooking, beauty therapy, fashion technology, electrical installation, restaurant service, welding, CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Automobile Technicians, Autobody Repair, Car Painting, Plastic Die Engineer, Mechanical Engineering CAD. The Regional competition was held at Bhubaneswar, Odisha in a few selected trades.
