Last day of Ramleela: Victory of good over evil shown

The victory of good over evil was splendidly showcased on the last day of Ramleela Utsav. Watching Ravana Vadh live on stage was a delightful experience for the Bhopalites. In the closing ceremony of 'Ramleela Utsav' Ravan Vadh and Rajya abhishek was staged here on Friday.

The programme organised by Madhya Pradesh Culture Department, the Ramleela Utsav showcased different episodes from the epic Ramayana. Here on Friday, the audiences were enthralled to watch Ravan Vadh and Rajya Abhishek at Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium.

Proceeding with the various episodes of Ramayana, the Ram Leela concluded with staging the last episodes of the epic mythology tale. The event began with staging the Setuband Rameshwar, Angad Ravan samvad, Laxman shakti, Meghnath, Ravan Vadh and later, Rajya Abhishek, (crowning of lord Rama) was performed. The captivating staging was of Ravan Vadh and Rajya Abhishek of Lord Ram. The 80 artists of Rangrez Kala Sanskar Group of Gwalior spontaneously performed every episode of Ramayana on stage leaving the audience totally stunned. With the help of Hanuman and Laxman Ram killed Ravana and took Sita back to Ayodhya. Having received Hanuman's report on Sita, Rama and Lakshman proceed with their allies towards the shore of the southern sea. There they are joined by Ravana's renegade brother Vibhishana. The monkeys named Nala and Nila construct a floating bridge known as Rama Setu across the ocean, and the princes and their army cross over to Lanka. A lengthy battle ensues and Rama kills Ravana. Rama then installs Vibhishana on the throne of Lanka.

Later, Ram along with Sita and Laxman returns to Ayodhya. It was a time of festivity all over as Ram returns to his kingdom.

The highly decorated stage, wonderful costumes, attracting props and moreover wondrous presentation was all about the grand closure of Ramleela Utsav. The audiences were mesmerised as they witnessed Ramayana in different episodes live on stage.
