The Maa Ghara would take out a massive peace rally from Baleswar to Bhubaneswar with a message of making Odisha liquor-free from September 26.
The rally would begin at the Fakir Mohan Shanti Kanan Park and end at Bhubaneswar on October 2, the Gandhi Jayanti day, with handing over a memorandum to the Governor for making Odisha liqour-free, informed Maa Ghara Foundation Trust members at a Press meet here on Sunday.
“Violence is rising in Odisha due to unemployment and liquor consumption. Due to violence, women and children are being affected the most.
The peace rally has been planned in view of the 150 th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi being held across the country,” they said.
Over 500 women activists belonging to various youth organisations, women organisations and district units of the Maa Ghara would participate in the rally.
Various awareness campaigns would be undertaken to make people aware about the ill effects of liquor sale and consumption in destroying future of women and children.
