The GRP Bhopal has nabbed a miscreant who used to pose as fake policeman and extorted money from vendors and passengers travelling without ticket; accused was nabbed from Bhopal railway station.
Police said that passengers and vendors complaint regarding a policeman who extorts money and acting on the complaints police team started investigation.
After receiving information of the fake policemen travelling from Bhopal to Bina in Sultanpur Express police team acted swiftly and traced the accused and followed him but the accused alighted off before Bina railway station as the trains halted and later he boarded Kushinagar Express train from Bina during which the team continued to follow the accused and later team found that he was wearing police uniform and checking tickets and threatening vendors in the train and extorting money. He was followed till Bhopal and as soon as he alighted off at Bhopal railway platform number 1 he was detained by GRP police.
The nabbed accused was identified as Ritesh Suryavanshi of Purshottam Nagar Semra. The police have registered a case under sections 170, 171, 419, 420, 470 and 471 of the IPC and started further investigation. To evade suspicion accused used to dress exactly like a GRP policeman he used GRP shoulder badges, name plate of Ritesh, Badge no; 046, red coloured on duty name plate and belt having written Government Railway Police.
Details of number of passengers and vendors duped by the accused would be investigated and for how long the accused was active in the crime.
