Man electrocuted to death while installing lights at Durga pandal

A 26-year-old man was electrocuted while trying to install lights at Durga pandal at 40 Quarters area under Govindpura police station area on Sunday.

According to the police the deceased Ajay Chawre was electrocuted and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

Police were informed and on the receipt of the information a police team reached the spot and started investigation.

After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for post mortem.

The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and started further investigation.

Police said that the man was electrocuted while he was trying to fix lights and soon after he was electrocuted he fell from the Durga pandal. 

It was not certain whether the victim died of electrocution or he died after he fell and could be confirmed only after receiving the post mortem. Police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC.

He used to work as contractual employee with BMC. Police said that the statements of the locals are yet to be recorded.

In the initial investigation police have found that the death was an accident.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old married woman committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at Ayodhya Nagar; no reason of the suicide was found Ayodhya Nagar police have started investigation.

The deceased Rakhi Yadav was found hanging with the ceiling and was taken to hospital where she was declared dead.

Body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation and started further investigation.
