Manoj Das’ wife passes away

Eminent litterateur Manoj Das’ wife Pratijna Devi, also a writer, passed away at the Sri Aurobinda Ashram hospital at Puducherry on Wednesday.

She was 80 and suffering from old age-related diseases since years, informed her family members in Kujang in Jagatsinghpur district.

Pratijna Devi was daughter of late Kujang king and former Erasama MLA Narayan Birabar Samant and Ratnamala Jema. After she married Manoj Das, she resided in the Aurobinda Ashram in Puducherry and continued her literary works till death. She published Odia children’s magazine “Jahna Mamu”.

Several prominent personalities of Jagatsinghpur district including her brother Biswmbar Samanta, sister Dr Bani Samanta and nephew Dr Sidhartha Das condoled her demise.
