Maoists set ablaze machines in Hazaribagh

Sunday, 21 October 2018 | PNS | Hazaribag

Thirty uniformed men raided camp of a Jamshedpur based company in Chouhan setting ablaze six machines costing several lakhs. Labourers said company named Lords Infrakon Private Limited is involved in construction of a canal in Jhapa village of Chouparan.

According to police, labourers after completing the work were taking dinner at around 8:30 yesterday night when uniformed men identified themselves as Maoists raided the camp office. They set ablaze six construction machines before escaping from the spot.

One of the labourers Mohammad Mujahid Ansari said many of them were taking dinner and many went to sleep after the tiring work. He said all of a sudden uniformed men entered  the camp and locked them in rooms. After locking the labourers, Maoists cut the wires of generator sets due to which power went off at the camp office. This gave enough opportunity to Maoists to set ablaze the vehicles and escape easily.  Superintendent of police Mayur Patel reached the spot and talked to labourers. He said they were probing the case as well as raid had started to nab the culprits.
