The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) was awarded for excellence in implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at the Municipalika 2018 held in Mumbai.
The Municipalika is an international forum for sharing of policies, plans, modern technologies and initiatives aimed at making cities smart. It provides a networking platform for Governments, experts, industrialists and service providers to find solutions to urban challenges. Various institutions from across India and abroad participated in the exhibition and seminar for better and planed management of the rapid urbanisation taking place around the world.
In the 15th annual function of Municipalika, joint secretary SS Negi, Superintending Engineer Sanjeev Jain and architect Prashant Nautiyal represented the MDDA.
The MDDA vice-chairman Ashisk Kumar Srivastav congratulated his colleagues in the authority. He said that in recent years, the MDDA had constructed 2,000 homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and out of these homes 568 were currently occupied. The allotment of about 500 homes under PMAY will be completed in the next one month. Work on the remaining homes is also to be completed in one year, added the MDDA vice chairman.
